A few days before the home study

Today is Saturday and we are preparing the house to host 40 people for Dolores's birthday party tomorrow. Carlos is here fixing a leaky pipe in the bathroom. At least the house should be somewhat clean come Wednesday.

We finished writing the Dear Birthmom letter and sent it off to Jamie, our adoption facilitator for her to look at. I think it turned out exactly the way I had hoped. Next, Chuck will create a quark file to place the letter in and also a few pictures of things like the house, us, the pets, and our families.

I installed 5 smoke detectors last weekend and child proofed the house as much as I could without driving us insane with plugged up outlets. I put a safety latch on the oven as was counting the days until someone busted it. 4 days- name- Chuck. So much for that.

Suzanne and I stopped in Sears last night to pick up a badly needed new vacuum cleaner. Checked out the baby crib sets and I have come to the conclusion that there will be no Pooh oriented things. For some reason, I just don't like Pooh. I did find some bedding on the web I love. I think it should be extension of the house. It's simple but cute. Here's a link of some of the items from Dwell (not the Target version) http://www.rosenberryrooms.com/168-dwell-baby.html?engine=adwords!2584&keyword=%28dwell+baby%29&match_type=&gclid=CPHjjpqWt4YCFR2eWAod8xa4NQ

The state is requiring classes to become adoptive parents. We are enrolled in a new baby class at West Allis Memorial on August 12th. It will be odd to be in the room with expectant mothers....

We are also looking to take a class in Infant CPR as well as a class on Adopting an African American child.

Off to Sam's club for party supplies....

Carla
